Victor Game Studio is a European indie studio. We build games in Unreal Engine 5 and publish on Steam, Epic, and our own platform (VGS HUB). Console releases are planned.
We ship fast, listen to players, and improve based on real feedback. Small team, no managers, no unnecessary process. Just people who make games.
THE ROLE
We are building open world roleplaying shooter games and we need someone who can handle both the level design and game design side of things.
This is a hybrid role. You'll build the worlds and also design what goes in them — items, quests, encounters, UI elements. You'll work with a small team, have a lot of responsibility, and see your work in players' hands quickly.
What you'll do:
- Design and build open world levels and environments in Unreal Engine 5
- Create world layouts with meaningful exploration, missions, and encounters
- Design combat spaces that work for shooter gameplay
- Design and balance items, loot, quests, and progression systems
- Work on UI design and implementation for in-game menus, HUD, and player-facing systems
- Own your work from blockout to polish
- Iterate based on playtester and player feedback

Requirements
REQUIRED:
- Strong experience with Unreal Engine 5 level design tools
- At least one commercially shipped game — any size, any platform
- Experience designing open world or large-scale environments in UE5 — comfortable with World Partition, HLODs, level streaming
- Understanding of shooter-level design — cover, sightlines, encounter pacing
- Familiarity with RPG design principles — quests, items, loot, progression
- Experience with UI design or implementation in UE5 (UMG or similar)
- Able to work independently and manage your own time
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with AI navigation and encounter design
- Background in worldbuilding or narrative design
- Experience with game balancing and economy design
NOT A GOOD FIT IF:
- You haven't shipped a game commercially before
- You need regular supervision to stay on track
